About The Work

The BYR 99 Prime Elements series constitutes a core axis that visually actualizes the concept of the Schematic Medium. This series is composed of 99 units—33 each in Blue, Yellow, and Red. Each unit possesses a diameter of 45.72cm and a thickness of 2.54cm, designed as circular forms capable of 360-degree rotation from the center.

Red (Circle?Transcendent Order of the Cosmos)
The units initiate from the 'Circle', inspired by the parabolic structure of the cosmic world and its endless rotation. The curvilinear and non-uniform shapes are composed to express the transcendent tension arising before the Eternal Chasm, structurally encapsulating physical phenomena and shifts in power—such as gravity, energy migration, orbits, and light—as reflected in the cosmos.

The 99 BYR units, constructed in this manner, evolve through physical integration or chemical fusion, creating formal indices of change, equilibrium, and unification. Each unit operates as a crucial fundamental element revealing experiences directly observed by my body and mind in every moment of life. Consequently, the 'BYR 99 Prime Elements' are not fixed formal completions of my artistic style but rather organic structures that continuously reflect and evolve with my attitude toward life and my ongoing self-reflection.

BYR Instruction Guide: 27 Actions for Existential Art Practice
To demonstrate the process by which my schemata are actually activated and embodied in life and art, I execute the following behavioral instructions, intentionally separating and systematizing everyday perception and emotion according to the structural principles of BYR.

Red (Circle/Cosmos)
Transcendent Order and Aspiration for Absolute Unity

This domain is the performative act of addressing the yearning for transcendent order and absolute integration.

1. Close your eyes and visualize all surrounding sounds as a single circle. Sense where you are within that circle.
2. Gaze into the gap. Willingly allow time for doing nothing until the silence assumes the form of unity.
3. Erase one superfluous form and intentionally practice emptying (비움) to fill the meaning of the existential gap.
4. Follow chance. Decide the day's primary action by flipping a coin and trust the outcome without doubt.
5. Stare at the night sky and designate a single star as the coordinate of your ultimate Ideal.
6. Imagine all relationships as a circle, and empty the center of that circle of your self.
7. Repeat an action you performed sometime in the past today. Observe the moment the circle of time is completed.
8. In silence, recall a single word. Designate that word as the central archetype of your life for the day.
9. Draw your life as one large circle, and allow its trajectory to be carried by eternity.
